communes found the " Federation of
Champagne Unions".
- 1909 : the journal "La Champagne Viticole" (Wine
Producing in Champagne) becomes
the link between the Union
and the vineyards.
- 1919 : the Federation becomes the "Syndicat
Général
des Vignerons" (the General Union
of Wine Producers).
- 1927 : inception
of the Champagne AOC (the official certification),
the first Appellation
d'Origine Contrôlée in
